My client, a commercial vehicle manufacturer, is seeking a talented Material Planner to join our dynamic team at a leading commercial vehicle company and play a crucial role in ensuring exceptional parts availability and customer satisfaction. Role is located in the West with a hybrid working arrangement.

Your new role

As a Material Planner, you will be responsible for planning and managing the end-to-end supply network of service parts, balancing customer demand with optimal inventory levels and cost efficiency. You will collaborate closely with suppliers, monitor performance, and champion continuous improvement initiatives to exceed key performance indicators.

  • Analyse and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), proactively addressing deviations from targets.

  • Manage and optimise delivery schedules with suppliers, ensuring timely and accurate information flow.

  • Proactively address overdue orders and urgent requests, communicating effectively with suppliers to resolve issues.

  • Coordinate deliveries and provide accurate estimated times of arrival (ETAs) for outstanding orders and customer backorders.

  • Lead continuous improvement activities to optimise ETA, lead times and inventory levels, contributing to cost reduction and efficiency gains.

  • Maintain accurate parts and supplier information within various systems, ensuring data integrity.

  • Support supplier relationship management (SRM) processes, fostering strong partnerships.

  • Manage parts supersessions in the system, ensuring data accuracy and minimising disruption.

  • Support initial stock preparation, address quality-related issues, and contribute to seasonal demand forecasting.

What you'll need to succeed

  • At least a Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent experience.

  • Proven understanding of end-to-end supply chain networks and best practices.

  • Excellent communication skills, fluency in English and Mandarin as you will be working with suppliers in China.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros).

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
