My client, a top global shipping and logistics company, is renowned for innovation and operational excellence. They seek a dynamic Chartering & Operations Lead to join their collaborative, growth-focused team and drive future success.

Your new role

Operations:

• Oversee the daily shipping operations to ensure efficient and cost-effective logistics.
• Lead the assessment of the freight market and develop strategies with commodity traders for freight procurement, ensuring profitability and minimising trade risks.
• Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and mitigate any shipping-related risks.
• Develop and propose shipping strategies based on market trends, supply, and demand dynamics.
• Provide input on shipping operations, resolving contractual and legal discrepancies, and establish new business relationships with shipowners and cargo accounts.

Chartering:

• Work closely with traders, operational staff, and shipping operators to ensure seamless execution of shipping activities
• Prepare and review voyage plans and estimates, collaborating with vessel operators to ensure smooth execution.
• Negotiate rates with vessel operators and maintain relationships to monitor performance and optimise service delivery.

What you'll need to succeed

• Preferably someone that comes from the vessel industry or has worked in a shipping company.
• More than 5 years of experience
• Must have experience in chartering and shipping operations
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Ability to evaluate and optimise logistics operations and strategies.
