A commodities firm that is expanding rapidly is looking for a Finance Controller/Director to join their Singapore office.

Your new role

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be taking the full accounting and finance functions and to grow the finance team. This is an exciting role as this highly stable organisation is looking into launching an existing product into various markets. This role entails a high level of autonomy for you to run things.

• Financial Strategy: Develop and implement financial strategies to drive business growth and profitability in commodities trading.
• Financial Planning and Analysis: Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for commodities trading activities.
• Risk Management: Develop and implement risk management frameworks to mitigate financial risks associated with commodities trading.
• Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Capital Management: Oversee capital management, including funding, liquidity, and investment decisions.
• Compliance and Regulation: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies.
• Leadership: Lead and develop a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and oversight.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyse financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for commodities trading activities.
• Risk Management: Monitor and manage financial risks associated with commodities trading, including market risk, credit risk, and operational risk.
• Financial Analysis: Analyse financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to support business decisions.
• Accounting and Ledger Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Compliance and Regulation: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies.
• Financial Planning and Forecasting: Develop and manage financial plans, forecasts, and projections for commodities trading activities.
• Collaboration with Trading Team: Work closely with traders, analysts, and other stakeholders to provide financial insights and support.

What you'll need to succeed

As a seasoned finance professional, you have a strong background in finance, accounting, or a related field in the commodities trading space. You are a strategic leader and able to roll up your sleeves to get to the ground when necessary. Travelling will be required for this role.
